La-luna is a project (demo version) of Group 48 for the ARTG&CMPM 120 class at UCSC in 2019.

Abstract:

  • La-luna is a leisurely Puzzle Game that allows players to relax while playing. It tells a story that a long time ago, it was all dark in the night except for those blinking stars until an old man took the job of being the moon keeper, who gathered stars to the moon and made them shine over the night. In the game, players will act as the little boy whose job is to help his grandpa, the moon keeper, shape the moon according to the moon guidebook. In the gameplay, players need to control a broomstick to sweep stars to create different patterns to achieve the goal of each level.

Instruction:

  • Left-click the 'Menu' button at the up-left corner to check the goal of the current level.
  • Press S to stop everything from moving. (The key would be activated 6 seconds after entering the level)
  • Press D to remove colliders of stars so that they could overlap with each other. (The key will be activated after you pass the first level)
  • Press Q to go to the next level directly.
  • If S and Q are not working all the time, please reload the page!
  • After achieving the goal, please wait for 10 seconds for the little boy to come up. Left-click the little boy to go to the next level.

Very nice and calm game, I really liked it! It was fun to try and sweep the stars and create patterns, I did also just have fun with it and didn't even follow the instructions :D

I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
